Little Gems of Information About Matthew Macfadyen

  • Matthew is allergic to cats (according to the audio commentary on Spooks series 2)
  • He is a fantastic cook (this is from his wife....)
  • The big walking out of the mist scene in Pride & Prejudice had Matthew following a red flag held by director Joe Wright and trying not to fall over as he has very bad eyesight!
  • According to the Joe Wright audio commentary again, Matthew is afraid of horses and one of the scenes in Pride & Prejudice was shot with Matthew and Simon Woods on ladders not horses (mind you he has had to be on a few horses in his roles over the years...).
  • Matthew was nearly banished from the set of Perfect Strangers for laughing so much!
  • David Oyelowo showed a new use of the Spooks briefing table which Matthew started. Body surfing!

According to the trivia Matthew likes to cook, laugh, and have fun but also has bad vision and afraid of horses. These comments enhances my admiration for him as I too share these. He is a wonderful actor and wish to see more of him in future films.

I do not believe matthew has bad eyesight as proclaimed. Director Joe Wright explains they set up the scenes at 3 am as to film actors Keira and Matthew before sunup. They also flagged Kiera's walk, she couldn't see either. If Matthew is so blind why not corrective surgery or contacts. I think people have gone out of context with his interview as the Brits have a different way of speaking.

The end scene where he leans over in Pride and Prejudice, and wispers into Elizabeth's ear is sooo copied off of the movie Sweet Sixteen. He makes the Mr. Darcy character the new "Jake Ryan".

Matthew es un hombre hermoso, con bellos ojos, tierna y honesta mirada. Es cautivador ¿sabrá, realmente, lo que es capáz de ocacionar en las mujeres?

Muchas mujeres argentinas lo aprecian y admiran como actor y como hombre y lo consideran un dios...

Es una pena que acá, en el interior del país, no pasen las series en que ha trabajado, hay que conformarse con internet. También es difícil conseguir sus películas, (yo sólo he podido comprar 2). Espero que esta situación cambie muy pronto porque es un brillante actor.

Everyone with bad eyesight can't have corrective eye surgery. Myself included. And don't you think if we could we would?
